Senior Declan Johnson, son of Rodney and Chanel Johnson of Hickory Creek, has been selected for the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens award by Lake Dallas High School.

The school faculty chooses the recipient on the basis of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism, according to district officials.

Throughout high school, Declan has been active in soccer, math club, Business Professionals of America, Falcon Friends, the school’s University Interscholastic League math team and student council. The offices and leadership positions Declan has held during high school include: soccer captain, math club president, Lake Dallas High Business Professionals of America treasurer, and other leadership positions within his church. In addition, he has earned the distinction of honor roll all four years. He has volunteered at camps, helped with hospital projects for babies and has worked at food banks to benefit the local community among other service activities.
