Carrollton police have made an arrest in connection with the death of a man over the weekend. Nathanael Gehrer, 25, was arrested and charged with capital murder Tuesday, according to police.

On Friday at 5:30 p.m. officers responded to a deceased man in his early 20s in the 2100 block of Placid Drive. Gehrer, a resident of the southern Dallas County town of Wilmer, is believed to have been a social acquaintance of the victim, said police.

Police believe they know the victim’s identity, but the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office has not positively identified him due to alias names he had been using, according to a news release issued by the department.

The homicide occurred in the residence, said police.

Gehrer is being held at the Carrollton Municipal Jail. His bail has been set at $1 million.
