5:30 to 7 p.m. — Opening reception for a retrospective exhibit of the work of David Blow, at UNT on the Square, 109 N. Elm St. Free. Call 940-369-8257.

6 to 9 p.m. — Toy and book swap at 418 Texas St. to raise money for Explorium Denton, a planned children’s museum. Bring a $5 donation and a laundry basket full of toys and books and swap them for an equal amount of items. For those who don’t bring items but want to shop, the cost is $10. 7 p.m. — UNT screening of The Other Town, a documentary focusing on residents of Birgi in western Turkey and Dimitsana in Greece, followed by a question-and-answer session with the filmmaker, UNT graduate Nefin Dinc.
