Sheriff gives check to advocacy center

Sheriff Benny Parkey presented a $150,000 check to the Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County on Friday as part of his distribution of drug forfeiture funds recently approved by the Commissioners Court.

“There is no higher purpose than to assist the children that have been victimized in our county,” Parkey said.

A total of $481,785 in forfeited funds is being given to 18 police agencies and five constable offices, as well as the Advocacy Center.
