A Christmas Eve bar brawl between several men turned serious when someone allegedly pulled a knife.

Denton police responded to a local bar in the 1700 block of Teasley Lane after midnight Monday. The man accused of pulling the knife appeared very intoxicated, officers reported.

Police found an illegal knife — a double-edged dagger with a metal handle — in the suspect’s possession.

Witnesses and the parties involved told police that the man initiated the altercation and then proceeded to provoke the situation further by pulling out his dagger.
