Two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle in Lewisville on Tuesday evening.

Ray Clark, 58, from Natchitoches, La., and Lewisville resident Dardell Lake, 53, were transported to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano and Parkland Hospital in Dallas after being hit by a 2010 Honda CR-V, according to Lewisville Police Department reports.

The accident occurred in the 2000 block of South State Highway 121 Business at 6:12 p.m., said Capt. Kevin Deaver, a spokesman for the department.

“The white Honda was going southbound in the middle lane and struck the two pedestrians as they attempted to cross the road mid-block,” Deaver said.

The driver of the Honda was Denise Portillo, 61, from Grapevine. Portillo did not suffer any injuries and will not face any charges, police said.

As of Thursday afternoon, both pedestrians remain hospitalized.
