Officers used a Taser to subdue a man who refused to cooperate after he was detained for public intoxication Saturday at Denton City Jail, according to a police report.
At 6:32 p.m. on the corner of North Crawford and Oak streets, officers discovered a man standing in the driveway of a house that was not his residence, according to the report.
An officer interviewed the man and tried to conduct a field sobriety test, but the man refused. The police officer arrested the man for public intoxication, and while the officer was attempting to put the man into a squad car, the man fought with the officer.
At the jail, the man again refused to cooperate, and an officer used a Taser to get him under control, according to the report.
The man was charged with public intoxication, illegal dumping and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the report.
2000 block Laurel Street — A police officer responded at 2:24 p.m. Saturday to a reported domestic disturbance between a woman and her brother at a residence.
The sister told police that her brother had broken the windows to her house and was trying to enter, according to the police report.
After the officer arrived, he found that the front windows to the residence shattered but no sign of the woman’s brother.
After searching the area, the officer discovered the brother walking down the street with bloody hands, according to the report. The officer also reported that the man smelled strongly of alcohol.
The man, 18, was arrested for alcohol consumption by a minor, criminal mischief, criminal trespass and possession of K2, an illegal synthetic drug.
400 block West University Drive — As one man distracted a clerk at a local tanning salon, his female accomplice entered the building and stole a couple of bottles of suntan lotion, according to the police report.
A police officer was dispatched to the salon at 2:44 p.m. Saturday in reference to the theft.
Store management said the suspects fled in a gold colored, four-door vehicle with silver rims.
100 block of West University Drive — An officer responded to a call Saturday about an unknown person attempting to obtain a controlled substance.
The unknown person claimed to be an employee with Wise County Urgent Care located in Decatur.
According to the police report, the person was calling in a prescription for a patient that is no longer being seen.
500 block Inman Street — Police responded to a theft report of a man’s green 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle at 2:26 p.m. Saturday. The man told police that his motorcycle had been stolen from his residence.
The case is still under investigation, according to the police report.
