Cross Oaks Elementary School in Cross Roads was placed on lockdown Monday morning as authorities investigated a possible suicide near the campus, a Denton school district spokeswoman said.
Spokeswoman Sharon Cox said school started as normal Monday, but students were being kept inside and having recess inside to shield them from the scene.
The lockdown ended about 10 a.m., she said.
