A line of thunderstorms seen from Loop 288 moves across Denton Tuesday afternoon. A line of storms moved through Denton County Tuesday afternoon, leaving a brief burst of rain, wind and small hail.

Brian Daskam spokesman for Denton Municipal Electric said Tuesday that storms caused two separate power outages. One outage, which a location was not determined for, left 30 people without power for approximately 45 minutes. Lighting struck a utility pole at Interstate 35 and Sam Bass Boulevard, according to Daskam and the pole caught fire. A total 692 customers were impacted by the outage and within 30 to 40 minutes power was restored to a majority of customers. He said 190 customers are still without power as DME workers are in the process of restoring it.
