The Denton County Jail passed its annual three-day inspection by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards last week, according to sheriff’s officials.
During its inspections, the commission inspects the construction, equipment, maintenance and operation of the jail facilities under its jurisdiction. It also inspects the custody, care and treatment of inmates and investigates programs of rehabilitation, education and recreation for inmates confined in county jails, said a news release from the Denton County Sheriff’s Office.
“It is only through the steadfast commitment of the jail staff to the highest standards of service that they [jail staff] are able to accomplish this goal from year to year,” Sheriff Will Travis said.
