The Denton Kiwanis Club’s Taste of North Texas, now in its 24th year, will offer the opportunity to sample dishes from Denton-area restaurants, caterers, bakeries and food service providers for $15 or less.

Weston Thaggard, event chairman, said a total of 35 restaurants will be participating in the event, planned from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the University of North Texas Coliseum.

“It is one of those events that the community continues to embrace,” he said.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Kiwanis Children’s Clinic to help kids with medical, vision and dental needs, Thaggard said.

“We served over 300 kids last year,” he said.

The event is sponsored by Newland Real Estate, DATCU, Air-Care/Texas Air Conditioning & Heating, Ben E. Keith Co. Beverage Distributors, the Denton Record-Chronicle, Good Samaritan Society, First State Bank, First United Bank, Pecan Creek Pediatric Associates, Miller of Denton, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Alphagraphics, Arrington Outdoor Advertising, Lifestyles of Denton Magazine and the University of North Texas Coliseum.

Tickets are available at the Kiwanis Club office at 1001 N. Elm St., the University of North Texas Union and Athletic offices, the Denton Chamber of Commerce, Crouch Realty and from Kiwanis Club members. Cost is $15 for adults, $10 for students and military veterans and free for children 6 and younger.

Online purchase will be available until 3 p.m. Thursday at www.tasteofnt.com . Tickets will also be available at the door. For more information, call 940-387-6323.
