A clothing store for young men and women will be one of the new tenants added to Golden Triangle Mall, where renovation work is well under way.
Mall officials announced that Buckle, a Nebraska-based retailer of mid-priced casual apparel, shoes and accessories, will move into the mall this fall.
“They are going to be adjacent to where American Eagle Outfitters is right now, on the west wing of the mall,” said Jim Greenfield, senior vice president with Cencor Realty Services and asset manager for the mall.
The new shop will occupy 5,040 square feet.
“Buckle will be an excellent addition to our tenant mix,” said Matt Ludemann, manager of the mall. “They have a great product line.”
The Buckle Inc., founded in 1948, operates 441 retail stores in 43 states.
The Denton location will be Buckle’s 49th store in Texas, according to Brett Milkie, the company’s vice president of leasing. Other locations include Arlington, Southlake and Highland Village.
Renovations inside Golden Triangle Mall began this month with work to update many storefronts and expand the food court. In February, mall officials announced that food court tenants would include Italia Express, Tobu Oriental Eatery and Smoothie Paradise. The food court is scheduled to open in September.
Work on the mall’s parking lot has been completed on the east side, and the west side is now being repaved, Greenfield said. Exterior renovations are scheduled to be completed by the summer.
Many mall tenants have renewed their leases, according to Ian Pierce, a spokesman for The Weitzman Group, which handles lease negotiations along with Webcor. American Eagle Outfitters, The Limited, Hallmark, Regis Salons, Zales Jewelers and MasterCuts will continue operating at Golden Triangle Mall, according to a news release.
The Limited committed to a total renovation of its existing store. Payless ShoeSource recently remodeled its store at the mall, and J.C. Penney is also under renovation. Hibbett Sporting Goods’ new location within the mall is under construction, the release stated.
GTM Development Ltd. bought the mall at Interstate 35E and Loop 288 in November 2011. GTM Development is a limited partnership between Cencor Realty Services, and the MGHerring Group.
