Flores gets appointed as constable of Precinct 1

Denton County commissioners have appointed Lewisville police Officer Jesse Flores to serve as constable for Precinct 1. Flores, who will be the first Hispanic constable to serve in Denton County, was appointed to hold the office until the next general election in 2014. Constable Jim Dotson died soon after being re-elected last year. Flores’ position will also be on the 2016 ballot to put it into the same cycle as other constables.

Flores was recommended to the commissioners by the Denton County Republican precinct chairmen. They met with him and a handful of other candidates recently. The precinct chairmen voted to recommend Flores, and that recommendation was sent to the commissioners by Denton County Republican Party Chairwoman Dianne Edmondson and approved unanimously by county commissioners.
