While responding to a fight in a parking lot Wednesday afternoon, police were advised a gun and knife were involved.

Police were able to stop a fleeing silver minivan in the 900 block of Bernard Street and detain the driver believed to be involved in the altercation, reports said.

During the investigation, according to reports, the suspect got into a physical altercation with his ex-girlfriend’s aunt. During this time, police said, the aunt’s boyfriend also became involved.

Reports allege the suspect then produced a large switchblade knife and stabbed the victim, a 41-year-old male, once in the thigh before fleeing the scene.

Records show the investigation is continuing.
