Two men have been detained by Lewisville police after barricading themselves in an apartment for several hours Tuesday evening.
Capt. Kevin Deaver said police dispatch received numerous 911 calls around 7 p.m. after several rounds of gunfire reportedly went off in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Lakeview Circle.
“We were responding to a deadly conduct call,” Deaver said.
A deadly conduct call occurs when shots are fired at or in the direction of another person, officials said.
After the rounds were fired, Deaver said the two men, believed to be in their 20s, ran into an apartment and barricaded themselves inside for more than three hours.
As of late Tuesday, police did not know who or what the men were allegedly shooting. No injuries have been reported.
A hostage negotiator from the Lewisville police SWAT team communicated with the men until they agreed to surrender.
Their names have not been released.
Deaver said the apartment's tenant was not home but police confirmed that at least one of the men had permission to stay at the residence.
No charges had been filed by late Tuesday, and the two men were awaiting police interview.
Deaver said reports have alleged that more than two people were at the scene. He said investigators are working to sort out details of the incident.
“Investigators are currently looking for shell casings of the alleged fired rounds and obtaining a search warrant for the apartment,” Deaver said.
