Blotter: Man arrested at truck stop

A caller reported to Denton police that two panhandlers were at a truck stop Friday night in the 6000 block of Interstate 35.

Police said an officer was dispatched to the scene and he contacted the two suspects. During the investigation, reports show, police discovered one of the men was carrying an illegal knife.

The man was charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon and transported to jail without incident, according to reports.

The other man was released on the scene with a warning, police said.

3800 block of La Mancha Lane — A 44-year-old woman told police her home was burglarized Friday afternoon.

According to reports, someone broke the glass in the back door and knowingly or intentionally made entry.

University of North Texas police made four arrests, issued one citation to a student for driving with an invalid license, and responded to reports of one assault, one suspicious person, one student misconduct, one theft under $500, two medical calls, two minor accidents, one possession of drug paraphernalia and one consumption of an alcoholic beverage.
