HOW TO HELP

Here are some of the area relief efforts for tornado victims in Moore, Okla.

American Legion Post 550 in Pilot Point invites residents to bring bedding, toiletries, toys, canned food, bottled water, baby items and gently used clothing. A jar for cash donations will also be available. The post will also host a fundraiser beginning at 1 p.m. Monday, May 27. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and watermelon will be served and donations for Moore will be accepted. The post is located at 905 N. Foundation Drive in Pilot Point and opens at noon daily. Denton Kiwanis Club is collecting online donations to purchase supplies for filling disaster relief backpacks for individuals impacted by recent tornadoes in Texas and Oklahoma. For more information, visit www.dentonkiwanisclub.org.

Total Eyecare & Eyewear Gallery, 3111 Unicorn Lake Blvd, Suite 100, is collecting toiletries, car seats and anything a family could need until 8 p.m. daily this week. For more information, call 940-891-3937.

JT Clothiers, 2430 Interstate 35E, Suite 130, is conducting a clothing drive until Saturday, June 1. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Clothes will be delivered to shelters in and near Moore. For more information, call 940-387-0761.

Kroger shoppers can support the tornado relief efforts in Oklahoma by participating in a coin box fundraiser presented by Kroger and the American Red Cross. Customers can visit any Kroger store in Texas to make a donation at the register. Kroger will match every shopper’s donation up to $50,000. One hundred percent of the money collected will benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief fund. For more information, visit www.kroger.com.

Real Estate Offices in Denton are collecting donations today. Supplies needed include: bottled water, gloves, cleaning supplies, nonperishable food, masks, shovels, hand sanitizer, trash bags, animal supplies, diapers, formula and baby wipes. Cash donations are also being accepted for families in Moore, Okla., and to purchase food for first responders. The donations will be delivered to Oklahoma on Friday morning.
