According to reports, officers were dispatched to to a shooting at 10:42 p.m. Thursday night. Upon arriving on the scene, officers observed Jose Sanchez, a 47-year-old father, was conscious and breathing with a gun shot wound to his head.
Police said Friday that his daughter had answered the front door of their home to a man who said his car was broken down. When she left to get her father, he was shot when approaching the door.
Officers were informed the suspect of the shooting had fled the area on foot, police reports show.
Officer Ryan Grelle, spokesman for the department, said Sanchez was airlifted to a Fort Worth hospital and his condition is unknown.
