Copper Canyon officials are warning its residents to beware of two men inquiring about repair work.
According to a statement issued by the town, the two have been approaching residents recently about asphalt repairs. They start off by saying they have left-over asphalt from a project and offer to do repair work, the city press release stated.
After the repairs are complete, the men inflate the bill and in some cases, take a deposit without performing the work they were hired to do, the release states. Officials with the town said a similar scam happened last year.
Officials advised residents to check with the town to make sure workers are registered before hiring anyone to do repair work. Town officials said the men going around now are not registered.
