U.S. Highway 380 work reset to begin today

Due to rain on Tuesday, previously scheduled work on U.S. Highway 380 will be carried out Thursday and Friday.

U.S. 380 will be tapered down to one lane between Cottonwood Trail and Masch Branch Road from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. both days. The closure is necessary to install a storm sewer underneath the highway.

During the closure, vehicles will be led through that section of the highway by a pilot vehicle and flaggers, one direction at a time.

This work is dependent on the weather and is subject to change again if needed.

This is part of a $39.3 million widening project that will add capacity to U.S. 380. Texas Sterling Construction Co. is the contractor on the project that will add two additional lanes in each direction from just west of FM156 to Interstate 35. The project started in April and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2017.

Road conditions and traffic updates are available on the drivetexas.org website and at www.facebook.com/txdot .
