Blotter: Tips lead to five arrests

The Colony Police Department made five drug-related arrests Wednesday morning after receiving anonymous tips from area residents, officials said.

The criminal investigation division and special response team executed a narcotics search warrant in the 4900 block of Arbor Glen Road.

Police said most of the five people arrested live at the location. Three were charged with possession of marijuana, one with two counts of delivery of marijuana as well as possession, and an 18-year-old man was arrested on two outstanding warrants from Lake Dallas police.

Police said the investigation was initiated after they received anonymous tips from “concerned citizens,” and detectives were able to establish that narcotics were allegedly being bought, sold and used at the residence.

Police said because the residence is across the street from an elementary school, each charge is enhanced by one degree because the alleged offenses occurred within a state-mandated “Designated Drug Free Zone.”
