A harmless but ominous cloud hovers over fields of maize between Sanger and Denton as a storm system cooled temperatures into the 70s on Monday. Rainfall by Monday evening totaled 1.01 inches, according to records from the Denton Enterprise Airport. The National Weather Service forecast calls for a 50 percent chance of rain today, mainly after 1 p.m. with a high near 87. Tonight and Wednesday, a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms continues, dropping to 30 percent Wednesday night. The high Wednesday is expected to be 90.
