AUBREY — Walmart opened a temporary hiring center at 226 Countryside Drive in order to help fill 300 positions for the new Cross Roads Walmart, which is expected to open this fall.
“We are excited to add the first Walmart to Cross Roads and bring good jobs with great career opportunities to the area,” Tony Quintero, the store manager for the Cross Roads location, said in a news statement.
Quintero said the store is looking for both full- and part-time associates. The majority of new associates will begin work in September to help prepare the store for its grand opening.
A Walmart Supercenter is under construction at the northeast corner of U.S. Highway 380 and FM424.
Through Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months, a press release stated.
The hiring center will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
The center will remain open until the jobs are filled and/or the store is open, a media representative with Walmart said in an e-mail communication.
