Doctors pronounced dead a 34-year-old Frisco man who was pulled from Ray Roberts Lake during the weekend.

Ramakrishna Tangudu was pronounced dead at 11:45 a.m. Monday by Dr. Mark Jenkins.

Troy Taylor, chief death investigator for Denton County, said Tangudu’s official cause of death was drowning.

His body will remain at the hospital and kept on a ventilator for the next couple days since he is an organ donor, officials said.

Tangudu was pulled from the swimming area at the Isle Du Bois Unit of the state park Saturday evening and transported to Denton Regional Medical Center. At the time, officials were calling the incident a “near drowning.”

Greg Waller, park ranger, said the swimming area can reach 10 feet deep in some spots.

Tangudu’s death marked the first for Ray Roberts Lake this year.
