Several Dallas police cars sped through Denton County Saturday afternoon.

The high speed chase - involving a Toyota Tundra reported stolen - ended at the Ganzer exit on Interstate 35 northbound at the Denton/Sanger city limits, according to police officials.

The suspect, who was not identified as of press time, was believed to have taken the truck owner’s brother at the time the truck was taken, police said. Officials indicated the 33-year-old brother inside the truck was disabled.

Dallas police spokesman Juan Fernandez said the suspect did drive away with the victim inside and produced a weapon, forcing the victim to exit the vehicle at a different location. The victim, Fernandez said, was uninjured.

The suspect sped through Dallas County into Denton County with more than six squad cars in pursuit after releasing the victim, officials said.

The suspect is in Dallas police custody and charges are pending.

Officials said additional information is not being released at this time.
