Blotter: Report: Woman arrested after dispute with husband

A woman was arrested Sunday and taken to the Denton City Jail following a domestic dispute with her husband.

According to a police report, a man told police that his wife hit him in the face and put her arm around his neck and choked him while he was driving. Officers reported the man’s right cheek was swollen and that he had redness on both sides of his neck.

The wife, according to the report, told officers she feared her husband, who had previously assaulted her and drove beyond their home while arguing. She also admitted to hitting him, putting her arm around his neck and stating she was attempting to get her phone.

According to the police report, the woman was arrested for assault family violence and taken to jail.

100 block of North Locust Street — Officers responded to a business Sunday after someone reported that a safe containing the business’ cash was removed between 3:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

400 block of Stroud Street — A man told Denton police that the solar screen on the east side of his rental property was damaged between 8 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.

According to the police report, the damage totaled about $100. Officers also reported the damage was “an apparent attempt to enter the residence.”

6400 block of Oak Lane — A man was stabbed twice in the leg, causing minor cuts Sunday.

According to a police report, the individual suspected of stabbing the man entered the a residence, assaulted an occupant there and on his way out slashed the tire of another occupant.

The man chased the suspect, which led to a physical altercation in which the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed him.

Aubrey firefighters responded to a fire alarm, nine medical calls, a disturbance, a structure fire, a vehicle fire, one traffic accident and a request to unlock a vehicle.
