One person died after a two-vehicle collision Thursday morning in the 10000 block of East U.S. Highway 380.
Officer Ryan Grelle, spokesman for Denton police, said officers responded to the fatality at 6:39 a.m. after a man, identified as Adan Rodriguez, 20, driving a Toyota Scion westbound on U.S. 380 veered into the eastbound lanes.
When the vehicle crossed into the eastbound lanes of traffic, the Scion was struck on the passenger side by a GMC Suburban, according to police reports.
Officials said the Scion had been in the inside westbound lane and the Suburban was in the middle eastbound lane before the impact.
Troy Taylor, chief death investigator for the Tarrant County medical examiner, said Rodriguez was wearing a seat belt.
Three men who had been in the Suburban suffered serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to Denton Regional Medical Center, officials said. Grelle said their injuries were not life-threatening.
Various lanes of the highway were closed for four hours Thursday morning during an investigation at the scene.
Police said the accident is still under investigation.
