A fisherman, whose body was recovered from Ray Roberts Lake a day after he went missing, has been identified.

The man was identified by Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office records as Gabriel Carter, 29, of Pottsboro.

Cooke County Game Warden Darla Barr told The Dallas Morning News that rescue efforts began Saturday afternoon after an emergency call about a boat on Ray Roberts Lake without an operator.

Lewisville Fire Department divers found the body in 21 feet to 25 feet of water on Sunday morning, records show.

Barr says the body was found about a half mile west of Wolf Island.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating the cause of death.
