Blotter: Man jailed on charges of possession, DWI

A man pulled over by a Denton County Sheriff’s Office deputy Thursday night for allegedly driving recklessly was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated, according to a sheriff’s office report.

The deputy made the stop in the 1500 block of Interstate 35E at about 8 p.m., the report stated.

The man was brought to the Denton City Jail by deputies on the two new charges as well as past warrants out of Tarrant County, according to the report.

12400 block of Plainview Road — A man claimed Thursday night that someone charged $1,800 to his debit card in Indiana. The items charged were not listed.

1100 block of Bernard Street — A man who said he got into a fight with a roommate over a girl ended up with a black eye and a facial laceration, according to a police report. The 21-year-old man told officers responding to an assault call after 10:30 p.m. Thursday that the alleged assault occurred 30 minutes earlier. No charges were filed, according to reports.

Denton County sheriff’s dispatchers handled 789 service and officer-initiated calls for the agencies they serve. Twenty-nine people were booked into Denton County Jail.

Denton police handled 331 service and officer-initiated calls and posted 15 reports.

Denton firefighters responded to 23 medical calls, one good intent call and four vehicle accidents.

Argyle firefighters responded to four medical calls and one traffic transport incident. Argyle police responded to one criminal trespass in progress, one domestic disturbance, one report of gunshots heard, one suspicious activity call, four traffic calls, two traffic transport incidents and assisted two agencies.

Aubrey firefighters responded to four medical calls, one structure fire and assisted one citizen. Aubrey police assisted one agency and responded to three suspicious activity calls, two theft reports, nine traffic calls and two animal complaints.

Bartonville police assisted one agency and one motorist.

Corinth police responded to one burglary, two medical calls, one harassment report, three suspicious activity calls, one traffic complaint, two animal complaints, two thefts and 48 traffic stops.

Double Oak police assisted one agency and responded to five traffic calls.

Hickory Creek police responded to 22 traffic calls, one traffic transport and one animal complaint.

Justin firefighters responded to three medical calls. Justin police assisted one agency and responded to six traffic calls.

Krum firefighters responded to two medical calls, one smoke investigation, one traffic transport incident and one vehicle fire. Krum police assisted two agencies and responded to one domestic disturbance, one ordinance violation, four traffic calls and one animal complaint.

Krugerville police assisted one agency and responded to 10 traffic calls.

Lake Cities firefighters responded to six medical calls.

Lewisville police made 14 arrests.

Little Elm firefighters responded to one illegal burn, one traffic transport incident, one water main break and two medical calls. Little Elm police assisted one agency and responded to one burglary, one Child Protective Services referral, one criminal trespass in progress call, one verbal disturbance, one narcotics call, one noise complaint, one reckless driver report, four suspicious activity calls, one theft report, 15 traffic calls, six animal complaints, one animal cruelty report and two traffic transport incidents.

Northlake police assisted one motorist and responded to two reckless driver reports, two traffic transport incidents and 10 traffic calls.

Oak Point firefighters responded to one medical call. Oak Point police responded to one medical call, two ordinance violations, two traffic calls and one animal complaint.

Pilot Point firefighters responded to one medical call and one structure fire. Pilot Point police assisted two agencies and responded to one fireworks complaint, one suspicious activity call and 12 traffic calls.

Sanger firefighters responded to one vehicle fire and two medical calls. Sanger police assisted one agency and responded to one burglary in progress, one noise complaint, one reckless driver, one suspicious vehicle, five traffic calls, one medical call, two welfare concerns and one animal complaint.

Trophy Club firefighters responded to one medical call, one water main break and assisted one citizen. Trophy Club police responded to one theft, 13 traffic calls, one traffic complaint, one medical call, two animal complaints and assisted one motorist.
