Blotter: Woman reports boyfriend allegedly assaulted her

A woman reported that her boyfriend, who is also her children’s father, allegedly assaulted her, causing cuts to her face early Saturday, according to a police report.

The alleged assault happened at around 4 a.m. in the 2300 block of Vanderbilt Court, according to the police report. Before police arrived on the scene, the boyfriend had fled.

According to the victim, the boyfriend also allegedly choked her, according to the report.

Officers reported and documented the woman’s injuries and also searched for the boyfriend with the help of the police department’s K-9 unit and the University of North Texas Police Department.

The victim, her children and witnesses went to another location, the report stated. The case is still open and under investigation.

 

Other reports

500 block of East Hobson Lane — Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle located in a parking lot at South Lakes Park at about 11 p.m. Saturday.

The officers made contact with a man who was in the car and they discovered that he was allegedly in possession of marijuana. Police arrested the man and he was charged with possession under 2 ounces in a drug-free zone.

The case was closed by arrest.

2200 block of Yorkshire Street — A man reported that he was allegedly assaulted by a person he lived with, according to a police report.

The man alleged that the suspect had struck him multiple times with a cane. The alleged assault was reported around 8 p.m. Saturday.

The man also told police that the suspect had allegedly assaulted him many times in the past, hitting him in the head with a frying pan and punching him in the nose, according to the police report.

The case is still open and pending investigation, according to the police report.
