A Denton firefighter was indicted by a grand jury in Judge Margaret Barnes’ 367th District Court Thursday at the Denton County Courts Building.

According to court records, Brandon Galbraith, 37, received a true bill of indictment on a charge of driving while intoxicated in July.

Ryan Grelle, spokesman for Denton police, said in a previous interview that Galbraith was charged with DWI in the 100 block of East Hickory Street by a Denton officer early in the morning of July 12 .

Deputy Chief Kenneth Hedges, spokesman for the Denton Fire Department, said Galbraith is a 12-year firefighter and paramedic with the department.

After the department learned about Galbraith’s arrest, he was placed on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

Officials said Galbraith remains employed with the department.
