Blotter: Party host allegedly assaulted by guest

The host of a house party was allegedly assaulted by another man Saturday night, according to a police report.

The host asked the suspect to leave the party, but the suspect became upset and started to fight, the report stated.

During the fight, the suspect allegedly tore the bottom portion of the victim’s earlobe off, causing the host serious injury and intense pain, according to the report.

The incident occurred in the 700 block of Cordell Street, and according to the police report, no arrests had been made at the time the report was filed. The case is still pending, according to the report.

Shortly after reporting the alleged attack, the party host also alleged that someone at the party stole his guitar.

The host said that his electric Fender base guitar was allegedly stolen sometime between 1 and 3 a.m., around the same time he was assaulted.

The host reported that there were between 50 and 100 people at his party, according to the report.

The case is still open and pending.

900 block of Cleveland Street — A man reported that someone allegedly took his money after he attempted to buy a vehicle on Craigslist, according to a police report filed Saturday evening.

The man told police that he attempted to purchase a vehicle in North Carolina by sending a money order for $1,295, the report stated.

He never received the vehicle, according to the report.

He told police that the suspect’s phone number that he was given continues to go to voice mail whenever he tries to call it.

The case is still pending.
