Blotter: Woman reports $500 stolen from her wallet

A 21-year-old woman reported $500 was stolen from her wallet after she left it on the counter in a shoe store Saturday evening, according to a police report.

The caller told police that she was shopping in a shoe store and at some point she set her wallet down and left it in the store.

While in a clothing store a short time later, the woman realized that she had forgotten her wallet and returned to the shoe store. She found the wallet, but told police that it was $500 lighter.

The woman told police that the money was for rent, according to the report. No other items were missing and there was no suspect information, according to the police report.

The case is still open and pending.

8100 block of Serenity Way — A woman reported Saturday she had been receiving harassing phone calls and mail for the past couple of days, according to a police report.

The woman told police that the mail was derogatory and that she believes the mail was sent by her ex-boyfriend or his new girlfriend, according to the police report.

900 block of Cleveland Street — A woman reported that her gray 2005 Kia Spectra was stolen Saturday afternoon, according to a police report.

The woman, who’s a North Richland Hills resident, was staying at a local apartment complex when she reported her car stolen.

The woman estimated the car was valued at $1,500 or more but less than $20,000.
