Denton police officers arrested a man in connection with an assault that left another man injured Sunday.
A woman told an officer who had responded to a residence in the 5300 block of East McKinney Street on an assault call that her child’s father had showed up at her house and allegedly punched her boyfriend in the face and then left, a police report states.
The officer saw that the victim was badly injured and bleeding profusely from the face, nose and mouth, and he was missing several teeth and his right ear, according to the police report.
The officer called for an ambulance to come to the scene and the man was taken to a local hospital, where he was admitted for his injuries.
The suspect was identified, arrested and charged with aggravated assault serious bodily injury, the report said.
900 block of Abbots Lane — An officer recently spoke to a woman over the phone in reference to a harassment complaint. The caller told the officer that she has received multiple obscene calls from an unknown man.
The woman was able to provide the officer with the suspect’s phone number and an offense report was completed.
600 block of North Interstate 35E — Officers were dispatched to a call about a controlled substance at a motel Sunday.
While at the motel, they observed a woman who appeared to be suspicious and nervous. The woman left the motel in a vehicle and police followed.
According to police reports, a traffic violation occurred in the 1800 block of Westwood Drive, where, during the investigation, the woman was found to be in possession of prescription medications and marijuana.
She was arrested and transported to Denton City Jail for booking, the report said.
