Butterfield Elementary School third-grader Brantly Stokes scans the bar code on his teacher Shaundra Padron’s shirt during the Poetry in the Park event Thursday at Porter Sports Complex Park in Sanger. Butterfield third- and fourth-graders used smartphones or tablets to scan bar codes posted on trees, light posts or anywhere they could find them, as shown below, for which they received a poem written by a Butterfield student that they read out loud to their class. The event continues today but will be moved indoors to the school because of inclement weather.
