A 23-year-old Lewisville man is sitting in the Denton County Jail on a $150,000 bond on three counts of aggravated robbery, officials said.

Lewisville police said the man confessed to a series of robberies along Fox Avenue last month in which the robber was wearing a skull mask.

Officers made a link to the man after a skull mask matching the description of the mask used during the robberies was found in the man’s vehicle when he was stopped on traffic-related charges. Warrants were later issued for his arrest on the robbery charges, but he was not arrested until a Lewisville police detective spotted him sitting in the Lewisville Municipal Courtroom this month on unrelated citations.

He was interviewed by police and admitted committing all three robberies, according to Capt. Jay Powell.

The robberies are still under investigation to determine if there are any additional suspects.
