Three people remained in unknown condition at area hospitals Wednesday evening after a GMC Envoy ran a red light at the intersection of State Highway 121 Business and Railroad Street, Lewisville police said.
Capt. Kevin Deaver, spokesman for the department, said the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Texas 121 Business when the driver ran a red light and hit a school bus traveling northbound on Railroad Street.
When the school bus was hit around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, it veered into a Honda Civic that was stopped at a red light waiting to travel westbound on Texas 121 Business, Deaver said.
There were no children inside the school bus at the time of the crash.
The woman driver was transported by air ambulance to Medical Center of Plano, police said.
The two male occupants of the Envoy had to be extracted from the vehicle, Deaver said. The passenger was transported by air ambulance to Medical Center of Plano and the driver was taken to Medical Center of Lewisville.
There were no reported injuries to anyone inside the Honda Civic, police said.
Deaver said westbound Highway 121 Business traffic was being redirected for several hours Wednesday evening onto Main Street.
