A Lewisville man is in jail after causing a three-vehicle collision that left two hospitalized late Wednesday afternoon, Lewisville police Capt. Kevin Deaver said.
Osiel Frias-Roberto, 20, was booked into the city jail on two counts of intoxication assault after he ran a red light at the intersection of State Highway 121 Business and Railroad Street at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.
A judge set his bond at $100,000 on Thursday morning, according to the city’s website. Frias-Roberto also has an immigration hold, records show.
During an investigation of the crash, police said they found open alcohol containers that led them to believe that Frias-Roberto could have been drinking at the time of the accident.
The 46-year-old female bus driver, along with the male passenger of the vehicle Frias-Roberto was driving, remain in critical condition at Medical Center of Plano, where they were transported by air ambulance from the accident, Deaver said Thursday morning.
Intoxication assault is a third-degree felony that carries a two- to 10-year prison sentence and up to a $10,000 fine, if convicted.
