Government offices — including city libraries and recreation centers — will be closed today and again on Jan. 1, in observance of the holidays.
City, county and federal offices will be closed today. State offices will be closed today and Thursday, and again on Jan. 1. Federal government offices will be closed today for Christmas Day and again on Jan. 1.
The Denton Record-Chronicle offices will be closed today as well. If you do not receive your paper, call 940-566-6836.
There will be no curbside trash, recycling, or yard waste collection today or Jan. 1. Today’s and Thursday’s collections will move forward one day during both weeks.
The landfill will be closed today and Jan. 1.
Denton Enterprise Airport administrative offices will be closed today and Jan. 1. The air traffic control tower will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the airfield will remain open 24 hours per day. Flight services will be available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
For New Year’s Eve, the Denton Natatorium, Denton Civic Center, Goldfield Tennis Center, Denia Recreation Center, MLK Jr. Recreation Center and North Lakes Recreation Center will close early at 6 p.m.
The Denton Senior Center will close early at 5 p.m. McMath Middle School will be closed all day and American Legion Hall will be open regular business hours.
Denton libraries will close early on New Year’s Eve, at 6 p.m., and resume regular hours Jan. 2. City recreation centers will be closed on Jan 1.
