Blotter: Report: Man unlawfully restrains teenage girl

A mother reported to Denton police Friday that an older man kissed her teenage daughter on the neck and then prevented the girl from leaving him.

Police said two officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 3300 block of Fallmeadow Street and met with the 14-year-old’s mother. She reported her daughter was kissed on the neck on Thursday by a 45-year-old man. The mother also reported that the man picked up the teenager and did not allow her to leave. The same man wanted to meet her teenage daughter Friday afternoon, according to the report.

Police said based on the officer’s observations the teen was unlawfully restrained. No charges had been filed by Saturday morning.

900 block of Greenlee Street — An employee of a children’s home reported to police that she suspected an adult was providing alcohol to a 17-year-old at the facility Friday evening.

1800 block of Laurelwood Drive — A 44-year-old Denton woman reported to police that she was constantly receiving harassing text messages from an ex-boyfriend. Police said one of the messages the woman received said the ex-boyfriend was going to break into her home and ransack it. She was not home when she received the message, so officers went to check her residence but found nothing, according to reports. According to reports, when the woman returned home, nothing appeared to have been taken. A harassment report was filed.

2000 block of Nottingham Drive — A 55-year-old woman reported to police that her phone was left in a restroom unattended and later stolen. Police said no suspects were located at the time of the incident, shortly after 7 a.m. Friday.

From 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday:

* Forty-six people were booked into the Denton County Jail.

* Denton police posted 14 reports online.

From Sunday, Dec. 29, to Saturday:

Texas Woman’s University police responded to 21 calls for service, 28 moving violations and one report and made two arrests.

University of North Texas police did not post any new activity for the week.
