A 22-year-old man was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly threatened to shoot a roomful of people in a apartment if they didn’t give him money, Denton police said.

Shortly after noon Monday, police responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Louise Street when another man reported that a younger man with dreadlocks had pointed a gun at him.

The caller told police the man said the caller’s son owed him money. Police spoke with the son, who said that he knew the man, who lived nearby, and that he owed him money for drugs, reports state.

After making the arrest, police searched the suspect, his apartment and vehicle but did not find the handgun that was reportedly used during the incident. Reports, however, indicate there was video evidence that showed the 22-year-old had a handgun and made the threats.
