The National Association of Clean Water Agencies awarded the Upper Trinity Regional Water District its National Environmental Achievement Award in the Public Information & Education — Educational Program category for 2014.
Upper Trinity was cited for its commitment to both protecting the local watersheds and promoting conservation. The award was presented earlier this month to agency officials at a ceremony in Santa Fe, N.M.
The regional agency provides educational and demonstration programs along with its wholesale water and wastewater services to cities and utilities in Denton County and portions of Dallas and Collin counties.
The national association is a leading advocate for national policies that advance clean water and a healthy environment, and is headquartered in Washington D.C.
