Blotter: Police investigate vandalism

Denton police officers are investigating a streak of spray-painting vandalism in the 2000 block of Stockbridge Road.

On Sunday, a Denton officer was dispatched to a Stockbridge residence in reference to a criminal mischief report. On arrival the officer met with a man who said someone spray-painted the side and back of his vehicle.

The man said he will press charges if a suspect is caught. While the officer was on the scene, seven additional vehicles were found spray-painted with the same images, the report said.

1500 block of South Loop 288 — Denton police officers responded to a shoplifting call.

The caller, a store employee, said the suspect purchased some items but walked out of the story with $381.65 worth of unpaid merchandise.

He was detained at the store and arrested by Denton officers.

2500 block of Stockbridge Road — Denton police were called to the scene of a domestic disturbance.

The caller said he and his girlfriend were in an argument over her text messaging. The man said the woman slapped him in the face and his thumb was injured during a struggle for the phone.

From 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Monday:

Denton County sheriff’s dispatchers handled 2,115 service and officer-initiated calls for the agencies they serve, and 90 people were booked into Denton County Jail.

Denton police handled 750 service and officer-initiated calls and posted 44 reports online.

Denton firefighters assisted two invalids and responded to 56 medical calls, a smoke removal, six vehicle accidents with injuries, a motor vehicle accident with no injuries, five smoke detector malfunctions, a rubbish fire, a natural vegetation fire, a grass fire and an unauthorized burning.

Argyle firefighters responded to a fire alarm, two medical calls, a grass fire, an illegal burn, a report of suspicious activity and a traffic transport incident. Argyle police assisted an agency and responded to 87 calls including 11 building checks and a 911 hang-up.

Aubrey firefighters responded to 10 medical calls, a grass fire, a structure and three vehicle unlocks. Aubrey police assisted five agencies and responded to 57 calls including two reports of an open door.

Bartonville police responded to a disturbance, a 911 hang-up and four traffic calls.

Corinth police assisted 13 agencies and responded to 259 calls including seven noise complaints, a vehicle fire and eight vehicle complaints.

Double Oak firefighters responded to a grass fire. Double Oak police responded to a fire smoke investigation, an ordinance violation, three reports of a suspicious person, vehicle or activity, 15 traffic calls, a traffic complaint and 12 vacation watch calls.

Hickory Creek police assisted five agencies and responded to 102 calls including an intoxicated person and 65 traffic calls.

Justin firefighters responded to two medical calls, a grass fire, an illegal burn and a structure fire. Justin police assisted four agencies and responded to 18 calls including a noise complaint and a report of a reckless driver.

Krum firefighters responded to six medical calls, a carbon monoxide call, a traffic transport incident and a vehicle unlock. Krum police responded to 32 calls including a report of a burglary and two reports of illegal dumping.

Lake Cities firefighters responded to two fire alarms, seven medical calls, a carbon monoxide call, a structure fire, an odor investigation, five traffic transport incidents, a vehicle unlock and assisted two citizens.

Little Elm firefighters responded to 10 medical calls, an assault, a smoke investigation, two structure fires, a traffic transport incident and a vehicle unlock. Little Elm police assisted two agencies and responded to 195 calls including two reports of auto theft and a fight.

Northeast police assisted two agencies and four motorists and responded to a report of a burglary, an ordinance violation, three reports of a suspicious person, vehicle or activity, a theft, 78 traffic calls and a traffic complaint.

Northlake police assisted one agency and two motorists and responded to two disturbances, a domestic disturbance, a report of gunshots heard, an intoxicated person, three reckless boaters, 46 traffic calls and a traffic complaint.

Oak Point firefighters responded to a medical call and assisted a citizen. Oak Point police responded to 37 calls including a report of an open door and five ordinance violations.

Ponder firefighters responded to two medical calls. Ponder police assisted an agency and responded to an auto theft and seven traffic calls.

Pilot Point firefighters responded to two medical calls, two illegal burns, a traffic transport incident and three vehicle unlocks. Pilot Point police assisted four agencies and responded to 50 calls including a theft and three reports of a suspicious vehicle.

Sanger firefighters responded to six medical calls, an electrical fire, an unknown fire and a traffic transport incident. Sanger police assisted five agencies and responded to 76 calls including a 911 hang-up and a narcotics call.

Trophy Club firefighters responded to three medical calls, an inspection and a vehicle unlock. Trophy Club police responded to 284 calls including 31 traffic calls and two reports of suspicious activity.
