JUSTIN — It was a busy day for first responders in Justin on Wednesday after a mobile home caught fire and a Hurst man crashed his flatbed truck into a guardrail just a few miles down the road, according to local officials.

Neither accident resulted in any injuries or fatalities, according to officials, but the man involved in the single-vehicle accident was transported to Denton Regional Medical Center by Justin emergency medical services for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The mobile home fire was reported at about 3:30 a.m. on the 17000 block of Gaffield Road, according to an online NBC 5 news report.

Residents of mobile home park said they heard a loud boom and by the time they looked outside, the mobile home was already gone, according to the news station.

Residents expressed concern that the man who lived in the home may not have made it out alive, but he was found in town and uninjured, according to NBC 5. However, fire officials said there was a dog found among the home’s debris.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A few hours after the mobile home fire, emergency crews were dispatched to an accident near the FM156 and State Highway 114 intersection at about noon.

A Texas Department of Public Safety official said the motorist lost control of his vehicle after he fell asleep. The vehicle crashed into a guard rail and a bridge support.

Emergency vehicles rushed to the scene and FM156 was temporarily closed as officials assessed the bridge’s condition and as they removed the wrecked vehicle.

The scene was cleared by midafternoon.
