Blotter: Police investigate report of stolen truck

Denton police officers are looking for a man in a Craigslist sale gone wrong.

A man reported to police that his vehicle had been stolen from an area in the 2700 block of West University.

The man reported that he was attempting to sell the truck to another man via Craigslist. The second man had been test-driving the truck and had called the seller to report that the truck had been stolen from the parking lot of a business.

The victim had attempted to contact the man who had been driving the truck but was unable to reach him.

Other reports

1400 block of Meadow Street — Denton police officers arrived on scene and arrested a suspect for aggravated assault. The suspect had allegedly threatened two subjects with a knife and also physically assaulted his spouse.

2400 block of Charlotte Street — Denton police were called to the scene of an assault when a man reported that his girlfriend hit him and pulled his hair after he burned a late-night chicken dinner.

From 7 a.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Wednesday:

Denton County sheriff’s dispatchers handled 752 service and officer-initiated calls for the agencies they serve. Forty-four people were booked into Denton County Jail.

Denton police handled 241 service and officer-initiated calls and posted 21 reports online.

Denton firefighters responded to 20 medical calls, a motor vehicle accident with no injuries, two vehicle accidents with injuries, a grass fire, a hazmat release investigation, an unauthorized burning, a brush fire, a good intent call, a building fire, a service call and a public service assistance call.

Argyle firefighters responded to a fire alarm and a structure fire. Argyle police responded to a 911 hang-up, two building checks, a report of a suspicious vehicle, a traffic call, an animal complaint and two vacation watch calls.

Aubrey firefighters responded to a medical call, a structure fire, a vehicle unlock and a welfare concern. Aubrey police assisted two agencies and a motorist and responded to an assault, a report of found property, a suspicious vehicle and five traffic calls.

Corinth police assisted four agencies and responded to 110 calls including an ordinance violation, a report of harassment and a report of illegal dumping.

Double Oak firefighters responded to a fire alarm. Double Oak police assisted an agency and a motorist and responded to 13 traffic calls, a report of a suspicious person, vehicle or activity and two vacation watch calls.

Hickory Creek police assisted an agency and responded to a grass fire, a 911 hang-up, eight traffic calls, a traffic complaint and a welfare concern.

Justin firefighters responded to a medical call, a structure fire and a traffic transport incident. Justin police responded to a structure fire and three traffic calls.

Krum firefighters responded to two medical calls. Krum police responded to a burglary report, a report of criminal mischief, a domestic disturbance, a noise complaint, a road blockage hazard, three traffic calls and a warrant service.

Lake Cities firefighters responded to two medical calls, a carbon monoxide call, a fire alarm, a grass fire, a smoke investigation, a structure fire, an odor investigation, two traffic transport incidents and a vehicle unlock.

Little Elm firefighters responded to five medical calls, a structure fire, an odor investigation and a vehicle unlock. Little Elm police responded to 59 calls including a CPS referral and a reckless driver.

Northeast police responded to a report of criminal mischief, a report of a suspicious person, 11 traffic calls, a traffic complaint, two traffic transport incidents and a vehicle complaint.

Northlake police assisted an agency and responded to two traffic calls.

Oak Point police responded to a structure fire. Oak Point police responded to a report of found property, three ordinance violations, suspicious activity, five traffic calls, an alarm and an animal complaint.

Ponder firefighters responded to a structure fire.

Pilot Point firefighters responded to a structure fire and two medical calls. Pilot Point police responded to a burglary, a medical call, two reports of theft, two traffic calls and an animal complaint.

Sanger firefighters responded to a structure fire and two medical calls.

Trophy Club police responded to a medical call and an inspection. Trophy Club police responded to five building checks, a report of an open door, six special patrols, 18 traffic calls, an alarm and an animal complaint.
