Cinemark will add its dine-in concept theater Cinemark Movie Bistro to Rayzor Ranch Town Center, with plans to open the theater in the summer of 2015.

The Cinemark Movie Bistro will feature eight auditoriums with wall-to-wall screens, an extensive food menu and alcoholic beverage options for guests while they watch, according to officials. This will be the second Cinemark in Denton.

The theater is now the second anchor to announce it will join the project, after Dillard’s announced in 2012 it intends to add a 126,000-square-foot store, which is also scheduled to open in 2015.

Both Cinemark and Dillard’s will start construction this year, though a specific timeline has not been set, said Robyn Young, executive vice president for marketing and communications with RED Development.

Negotiations are ongoing with other retailers and restaurants to join the planned 600,000-square-foot property. Young said they expect to make more announcements throughout the year.

“We have a tremendous demand for the property,” she said. “We are in discussions on a daily basis, and a number of retailers we’re talking with right now. It’s really an exciting mix of women’s apparel, shoes, children’s apparel and sit-down and fast-casual dining options.”

They hope to have a mix of retail and dining options at the center, though Young said they did not predetermine how much retail would be offered versus how many dining options would be offered.

“I would say that more and more of our properties, RED properties and shopping centers as a whole, are about creating an experience and restaurants are really important to that experience,” she said. “We find our properties with restaurants create a compelling reason for people to come, and go shopping before or after they eat.”

New properties will be built once leases are signed, so the project will grow as demand increases, as it has at Rayzor Ranch Marketplace, a sister property across the street from the planned Town Center that is owned and operated by RED.

Several stores are set to open this month at Rayzor Ranch Marketplace from the third phase of construction. Ross Dress for Less, Salons by JC, Boot Barn and Colorful Hearing should all open by the end of the month, and construction will begin soon on Academy Sports and Outdoors. Rayzor Ranch Marketplace has been able to expand because retailers are interested in the region right now, Young said.

“Texas as a whole, and Denton specifically, is very attractive to retailers,” she said. “This region has fared very well in recent years, and Denton is growing by leaps and bounds.”
