The city of Denton and the Denton County Transportation Authority will have a special naming ceremony and plaque unveiling for the Euline Brock Downtown Denton Transit Center at 10:30 a.m. today. The transit center is located at 604 E. Hickory St.
Brock was an at-large member of the Denton City Council from 1992 to 1998, serving as mayor pro tem from 1994 to 1998 and as mayor from 2000 to 2006.
In a recent news release, Mayor Pro Tem Pete Kamp said the city was “delighted to celebrate Mayor Brock’s enduring vision, determination, and leadership in expanding public transportation opportunities for the citizens of the city of Denton and Denton County.”
Special guest speakers will include Brock and Congressman Michael Burgess.
“I think it’s great to recognize Mayor Brock. She was a great supporter of not only DCTA but the community in general. It’s fitting we name the facility after her,” DCTA president Jim Cline said.
Parking will be available at the public lot at the corner of Exposition Street and East Hickory Street. Round-trip shuttle service will be provided.
