A loss-prevention video showed a theft by a family from a store at a mall on Friday.

Denton police officers picked up the video Saturday from the store at 2201 S. Interstate 35E.

The loss-prevention employee said he had video of the family that showed the theft of a designer purse.

The theft had gone undetected at the time, but the loss-prevention employee was able to view the theft on the video system later and made a copy of the video for police and provided still photos.
