A 16-year-old boy was assaulted by two people Saturday evening in a swine barn at the North Texas Fair Grounds, according to a police report.
The victim’s father called police to report the assault, the report stated.
Police officers reported the boy had several injuries, including welts on his chest, back and right arm.
Officers also took statements from the boy and a witness still at the scene, according to the report.
An agricultural teacher who broke up the fight was also questioned and confirmed the boy’s story, the report stated.
The case will be forwarded to detectives for a follow-up investigation.
1100 block of Duncan Street — A bicyclist called 911 after discovering an unconscious person on a bike path Saturday at the intersection of Duncan and Kerley streets, according to a police report.
The Denton Fire Department responded and began treating the patient, the report stated, and while searching for the patient’s wallet, the fire department discovered a zippered bag that contained marijuana and a pipe.
The patient was transported to Denton Regional Medical Center for treatment.
According to the report, the patient will be issued a warrant for marijuana possession.
5300 block of East McKinney Street — A local resident called police Saturday, expressing concern that four men were outside drinking alcohol and cursing loudly near children who were playing outside, according to a police report.
The caller also reported one of the men possibly had a gun, but the caller was unsure.
Police arrived at the scene and met with one of the men and discovered he was in possession of a handgun, according to the report.
The man was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the report.
