Blotter: Man arrested on criminal mischief charge

Denton police arrested a man for leaving his mark at a local bar early Sunday morning.

Around 1:40 a.m., a Denton officer was approached by a bar manager in the 100 block of Avenue A regarding a criminal mischief incident that had just taken place at his bar.

The manager reported that a man had allegedly defaced an electronic tablet and other areas inside the business using a black permanent marker. The suspect reportedly ran from the location.

A short time later, the manager located the suspect down the street in front of another bar and notified the police. Officers contacted the suspect, who was determined to be intoxicated as well as holding the black marker.

The man was charged with public intoxication as well as criminal mischief.

1500 block of Meadow Street — A man reported to Denton police Sunday that he had been assaulted by an acquaintance at an apartment on Saturday morning.

Officers observed multiple injuries to the man’s face and an offense report was completed.

2400 block of South Interstate 35E — A Denton officer was dispatched Sunday to a robbery report at a gas station convenience store.

The caller stated that two men stole four packs of beer.

The caller said that a large knife was displayed during the theft.

Argyle firefighters assisted a citizen and handled six medical calls, two fire alarms and one vehicle unlock. Argyle police assisted an agency and responded to an illegal dumping and a 911 hang-up.

Aubrey firefighters responded to nine medical calls, a report of downed power lines, an illegal burn, two traffic transport incidents and a vehicle unlock. Aubrey police assisted an agency and responded to a report of criminal mischief, two road blockage hazards and a theft report.

Bartonville police responded to a domestic disturbance call, four traffic calls and a traffic complaint.

Corinth police assisted eight agencies and responded to a report of loose livestock and five noise complaints.

Double Oak firefighters responded to a medical call. Double Oak police assisted an agency and responded to a 911 hang-up and 29 traffic calls.

Hickory Creek police assisted seven agencies and responded to a road blockage hazard and a report of gunshots heard.

Justin firefighters responded to three medical calls, a traffic transport incident, a vehicle unlock and a water main break. Justin police assisted an agency and responded to two reports of loose livestock.

Krum firefighters responded to three medical calls, a structure fire and a vehicle unlock. Krum police assisted three agencies and responded to four ordinance violations and three noise complaints.

Lake Cities firefighters responded to 14 medical calls, a fire alarm, a structure fire, six traffic transport incidents.

Little Elm firefighters responded to 15 medical calls, six traffic transport incidents and two vehicle unlocks. Little Elm police assisted an agency and responded to two building checks and two domestic disturbances.

Northeast police assisted an agency and responded to an open door and a theft.

Northlake police assisted five agencies and responded to two animal complaints and four reckless drivers.

Oak Point firefighters responded to two medical calls and a vehicle unlock. Oak Point police assisted an agency and responded to a burglary and nine ordinance violations.

Pilot Point firefighters responded to a medical call, a grass fire and a traffic transport incident. Pilot Point police responded to a verbal disturbance and a narcotics call.

Ponder firefighters assisted three citizens and responded to a structure fire and a medical call. Ponder police responded to two building checks.

Sanger firefighters responded to seven medical calls, a grass fire, a structure fire and three transport incidents. Sanger police assisted an agency and responded to two reports of criminal mischief.

Trophy Club firefighters responded to three medical calls, a traffic transport incident and a vehicle unlock. Trophy Club police responded to an illegal dumping and a suspicious vehicle.
